The Association of California Airports (“ACA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit calairports.org (the “Site”), become or renew as a member, register for events, or otherwise interact with us. It also describes the choices and rights you have regarding your personal information.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in three ways: information you give us directly, information we collect automatically when you use the Site, and information we receive from other sources.
Information you provide to us
- Account and membership information: your name, organization or airport, job title, email address, telephone number, mailing address, username, and password, provided when you register, join, renew, or update your profile.
- Payment information: when you pay dues or event fees, our payment processor, Stripe, collects and processes your card or bank details. ACA does not receive or store full payment card numbers. We retain limited transaction records such as the amount, date, membership level, and a payment confirmation identifier.
- Content you submit: information you choose to publish or share, such as member directory details, profile photos, forum posts, comments, and event registrations.
- Communications: the content of messages, support requests, and correspondence you send to us, including through our Contact page or by email.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device information: your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, the pages and content you view, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files and identifiers used to operate the Site, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and, with your consent, measure how the Site is used. See Section 3 and our Cookie Policy for details.
- Analytics and session data: with your consent, our analytics provider (Microsoft Clarity) collects usage metrics, heatmaps, and anonymized session replays configured to mask personal information.
Information we receive from other sources
- Member airports and organizations: when an airport or member organization enrolls covered staff, it may provide the names and email addresses of the individuals to be given access.
- Service providers: our payment processor and other vendors may provide us with confirmation and status information related to your transactions and account.
- Publicly available sources: professional or organizational information that is publicly available and relevant to aviation membership.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
- To create, administer, and maintain your account and membership, including processing dues, renewals, and payments.
- To provide member benefits and features, including the member directory, forums, downloads, and event registration.
- To communicate with you about your membership, transactions, events, and association business, and to respond to your requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, personalize, and improve the Site and our services.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
- For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.
3. Cookies, Analytics, and Your Choices About Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site and, with your permission, to understand how it is used. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential analytics. Analytics load only after you accept. You can change your choice at any time as described in our Cookie Policy.
Analytics provider. With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to measure usage through metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Clarity is provided by Microsoft, which processes this data under its own privacy terms. We configure Clarity to mask personal information in recordings.
Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. We instead give you a direct choice through our cookie banner.
4. How We Disclose Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only as described below:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf, including our payment processor (Stripe), website host (Nexcess / Liquid Web), analytics provider (Microsoft Clarity, with your consent), and email delivery provider. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- Other members and the public, where you choose to publish information to the member directory, forums, or other public areas of the Site.
- Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ACA, our members, or others.
- Business changes, in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of association operations, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- With your consent, or at your direction.

By using the Site, you consent to this transfer and processing.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to or rely on third-party websites and services, such as payment processing and analytics. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, which are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
